Contact form + how to book (please read guidance)

Brooklyn tour guide Norman OderGuide Norman Oder
Nearly all my tours are private tours, which typically last at least 2.5 hours, but can be adapted and extended, and scheduled at mutual convenience. I am available for private tours most days, including holidays.

    1) Please note that the listed tours rely on walking and public transit, but I can adapt tours to incorporate vehicles.

I do not have a car or drive. A vehicle tour requires hiring a car and driver, and typically costs at least $50/hour more. I cannot hire a vehicle for you,  though I can offer some suggestions.

    2) Most tours typically require steady, sometimes brisk walking, perhaps 2.5 to 4.5 miles, though I can adapt the tours to your pace. Please let me know if your pace is slow.

    3) Before you contact me, please peruse my listed tours (linked at top) and check the Fees for Private tours page, which explains potential cost (starting at $165), as well as the FAQ and list of misconceptions about Brooklyn.

    4) As a one-guide operation, my availability varies, but I promise to respond promptly, usually within hours, sometimes within minutes, always within a day. Same-day tours may be available. After an initial exchange of email, I'm happy to set up a phone consultation if helpful.

    5) I prefer email, since it avoids "phone tag," but I recognize that's not always possible. You can leave a phone message (answering the questions below, if possible) at 917-795-8595; please note that this voice mail-only number alerts me no faster than email.

    6) Once you're ready to book, I'll send an invoice for a deposit, payable by credit card. (In certain cases, I accept checks.) The remainder is payable at the end of the tour.

    7) I only rarely offer group public tours, listed on the Schedule page. Unfortunately, I am not able to combine your request with another group. Also please note: I don't lead tours in religious Jewish neighborhoods on Saturdays.

    8) The questions below with asterisks are required information. Please type your email address correctly. If you have a strong Junk Mail (or SPAM) filter, please check that folder for my reply.

    Thank you,
    Norman Oder

In case we need to organize a tour on short notice, or if we set up a phone consultation. Unfortunately, I usually *cannot* call a number outside of North America unless it's using WhatsApp.
This may help me shape the tour to your interests.
Please note that my fee (see link above) varies depending on the number of people.
The more options the better, of course.
    The more options the better.
Please see the list of tours I offer, as well as fees for private tours. If you don't know what you want, or have a special request, please let me know your preferences. Questions are welcome.
You can usually decide during the tour to extend it. My minimum fee is based on up to 2.5 hours.
This helps me estimate travel time to meet me. I am assessing that based on public transit: subway/bus. If you plan to take a taxi, or a bicycle, please tell me! Please note: a neighborhood name like "Midtown" is too vague.
Are you new to NYC or the subway? What's your demographic (i.e., seniors, family with teenagers, etc.)? What are you most interested in? Is this a reunion or other celebration?
Sorry to harp on this, but a few people in the past have missed my responses.
