There are lots of walking tours in New York, but Brooklyn specialist Norman Oder has designed these tours to be wider-ranging and faster-paced than most. These are geared to energetic, independent-minded people who can handle public transit and seek more than just the tourist basics.

Our Home, Our Specialty

Brooklyn would be the nation's fourth-largest city if it went independent. On our tours, you learn why Brooklyn was so important and hear tales of its heyday and decline, and its fascinating and hardly uncomplicated recovery. (We also offer tours of the Lower East Side, which is umbilically connected to Brooklyn.)

Private versions of our listed tours are available, as are orientation tours for newcomers, special tours for Brooklyn fans (there are obsessives out there, and we like them), and Jewish tours for those interested in Brooklyn's Jewish neighborhoods. Tours can be guided in vehicles provided by customers.

Public tours are scheduled periodically on weekends/holidays, but private tours may be available at other times. See details of tours by location at left.
